Dress Up Your Table with Specialty Linens

Dress Up Your Table with Specialty Linens

Rossette Border Overlay Table LinenFor weddings, receptions, special events, or home decor, one of the easiest way to dress up an event is by using the perfect combination of specialist table linens.  With the use of the right color combinations and the right fabric choices, you can adorn your table to match your theme and pair your linens with the centerpiece to create the ultimate dining experience!

Specialty table linens, lace and chiffon overlays, table runners and skirts are all great options for enhancing the look of your event.  The great thing about table cloths and linens is that they come in every color, style and pattern imaginable.  Fine cottons, delicate silks, lush satin, pretty lace, precious chiffon and intricate organza all make to be great specialty linens.

Different Types of Specialty Table Linens:
There are a few different types of table linens you can mix and match for your event.  The more fabric you work with, the more intricate and sophisticated your design.  However the quality of the fabric is always more important than the number of different fabrics you use.  One quality table linen made of fine silk will be better than 3 different kinds of table cloths made from cheap polyester.

1. Specialty Table Linens and Tablecloths:
The tablecloth is the foundation to your entire table setting, which is why you want to make sure you have the right style, color and fabric for your wedding or wedding reception.  Generally, people tend to use the same color, however you can use 3-5 different colors that accompany your overall theme and decor.  For tablecloths, it is best to use a sturdier type of fabric–no chiffon or lace.

2. Fabric Overlays:
Lace and chiffon overlays really add depth to the table setting.  They can turn any table setting from average to elegant.  Pair a nice lace overlay on top of your table linen to create a romantic, dreamy look.  Pair a see through chiffon of a similar or complimentary color to enhance the table linen underneath.  You can use extreme contrasting to bring out the colors of both fabrics, or you can use similar colors to accentuate and enhance the table linen underneath.

3. Specialty Table Runners:
If you are looking to add even more color or another level of intricate design to your table, consider using table runners.  As always, you want to make sure the color of the table runners match with the colors of both the tablecloth and the overlay.  Some prefer to have their table runners the same color while others prefer to mix and match.  Tip: stay away from using multiple different designs for table runners, it can make the tables look messy and complicated.
4.  Table Cloth Napkins:
Last but not least, make sure to tie everything together with the appropriate table napkins.  When in doubt, classic ivory and cream are always a safe choice.  However, you are free to use colors that accompany the rest of your table linens and fabrics.  Dress up your table cloth with a napkin ring or simply have it folded.
